PYSL SOCCER REFEREES
Becoming a PYSL Soccer Referee can be both fun and challenging. If you are interested in becoming a PYSL Soccer Referee please contact Judy LaBelle, the PYSL Referee Assignor, at judy.labelle@comcast.net, or one of the other PYSL Board members.
Wait List
There is currently a waiting list for new PYSL Soccer Referees. Names are added to the wait list in the order that the Referee Assignor receives new requests. Upon sending the Referee Assignor notification that you want to become a referee, the Referee Assignor will add your name to the wait list and will let you know your placement on the list. Please do not take a referee course prior to signing up with the Referee Assignor. You will not be able to referee ahead of other people on the wait list.
Referee Requirements
All PYSL Referees must complete a referee course, and pass an exam, that is administered by the Massachusetts State Referee Committee to become a USSF certified referee. There are different course levels depending upon your age and experience. The minimum age and course requirements can be found on the Massachusetts State Referee Committee website at http://www.massref.net/whichgrade.cfm . The process for becoming a certified referee can be found at http://www.massref.net/becomeref.cfm .
PYSL
Course Reimbursement Policy
It is the PYSL’s policy to reimburse individuals for referee courses and uniform expenses. This applies to Plainville residents only. The following expenses will be reimbursed once you’ve been notified by the Referee Assignor that your name is at the top of the wait list and that it is ok to take the referee course.
Please contact the Referee Assignor for information on how to purchase referee uniforms and equipment.
